Multiple Player Discount Policy

In order to receive the third and subsequent child discount available for siblings, you must register each child in the same account in which you registered your first child at the same time. In other words, one parent account must be used to register all children and you must register them in one cart.

Note that the discount will be applied when your cart is complete and you are ready to check out and pay.

Hockey Canada Registration System Security

The online registration process uses 128-bit encryption, which is the same level of security as online banking. Credit card transactions are processed immediately and no credit card information is stored.

Child Fitness Tax Credit

Print and Save your Registration Receipt!

The receipt you receive when you complete online registration is your receipt for the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit. No other receipt will be provided. You may sign into the HCR at any time during the season to re-print your receipt.

Even though the hockey season does not conform to the tax year, you can claim the full amount of your fees on the tax return for the calendar year in which the fees were paid. The year in which the tax credit can be claimed is determined by the date when the fees are paid, not when the activity takes place.

Visit the CRA website for further details on the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit.

Requirements to Play

Proof of Age

If you are new to the Markham Waxers or have never provided proof of age, please email a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport to the registrar ([email protected]) upon completion of registration.

Parent Respect In Sport

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) requires all on-ice volunteers, on-Ice officials and parents to take the appropriate “Respect” education. The program is a proactive, educational program that empowers parents with the tools to ensure the game is enjoyable and respectful for themselves, their children and all other stakeholders in the game.

At least one parent or guardian of each player registered in minor hockey in the OMHA must complete the online Respect in Sport Parent Program as a condition of participation. You only need to take the program once—it does not expire. If you are registering a child for the first time but have taken the program for another child, remember to add the child to your Respect in Sport account by way of their Child Management tab after you register them for the first time.

Download instructions on how to complete the Respect in Sport programMore information is available on the OMHA website.

Players cannot participate in association activities, including evaluations until the Parent Respect in Sport Program is completed. Completion of the Respect in Sport for Coaches/Activity Leaders does not satisfy this requirement. Fee for the course is $12.00. You only need to complete the program once for all your children.

Program Schedule

Markham Waxers House League runs a weekend program with practices and games played on Saturday and/or Sunday. Our program schedule (practice and game schedule) is finalized in late August and will be posted on our website.

Please refer to last year's program schedule (below) as a guideline as we try to maintain consistency year over year. However, you must be aware that this is subject to change based on ice allocation from the City and registration numbers in each division.
