U8, 2022-2023, HL (Markham Waxers)

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) and Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) have updated the Playing Regulations for the 2023-24 season including changes for U7, U8, and U9 programming. In response to these changes, the Markham Waxers will provide the following opportunities for our youngest players.

They not only impact those teams trying out in the fall (U10-U13) but also the spring tryout teams (U14-U18). Because of the added workload in the fall and the tight turnaround times, it is very difficult to get teams rostered in time. Tryouts for Waxers U8 Rostered Select team will be held on Saturday, October 15, and Saturday, October 22, at 2:00 pm at Mount Joy Arena. All 2015 born house league players are invited to attend. Please register for the tryout. If you have any questions, please contact head coach Tony Ciero.

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR UP TO $500 PER PLAYER IN REGISTRATION FEE SUBSIDIES The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund was created in response to the many families experiencing financial challenges. The goal of the Fund is to help Canadian youth access hockey and play the game they love. The Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association.
