Organization - Impact of Fall Tryouts Survey
Submitted By Deb Larsen on Tue 10 04, 22

Please take three minutes to complete the survey.

The impact of fall tryouts on hockey associations has been devastating. They not only impact those teams trying out in the fall (U10-U13) but also the spring tryout teams (U14-U18). Because of the added workload in the fall and the tight turnaround times, it is very difficult to get teams rostered in time. We have all seen the fiasco with travel permits and exhibition games, jerseys, rostering, transfers, etc.  Almost everything that would have been done during the summer months now must be done in a three to four week period at the same time that house league is being organized. Tryouts in the fall also delayed the start of the house league season due to limited ice availability in the City of Markham.

There is a movement to petition the OHF and Hockey Canada to move the tryouts back to the spring time as we feel this is not working for anyone, including the players.  However, you may feel differently. We want to hear your views whether you were involved in either the spring or fall tryouts or just registered for house league. We want to hear from parents of players of all age groups--U7 through U18.

Please take three minutes to complete the survey. It is very important we have as many people respond as possible so we can provide accurate information.
