The Markham Waxers BB U13 team had a fantastic season!
Most of the team (and coaches) were new to BB hockey and the first game of the season was an eye-opener and a tough loss. The team may have been a bit worried they would have a rough ride all year, but little did they know that they were destined for success. The team ended the season with a winning record, went undefeated in the playoffs, and found themselves in the finals.
Not that it was an easy road. Credit to the players for putting in extra effort, listening to their coaches' advice, digging deep, skating hard, and creating a team dynamic with great chemistry and heart. All the hard work culminated in an 11-game winning streak through the playoffs right to the division finals. where they fell short and obtained silver medals for second place and a first-time trip to the OMHA provincial finals.
