Congratulations to the U16 MD2 team who left Montreal with a silver medal this past weekend. They were the only team to go 4-0 in the round robin, only allowing four goals against in four games. All games were nail biters and could have gone either way, but the team persevered and played well holding the lead to the buzzer in every game.
The weekend also included a skills competition where they saw their very own Neel take second place in the shoot out challenge. Jordan, Christopher, Ethan, Tyson, and Xavier also represented the team with flying colors in the goaltender challenge and relay race.
Beating Burlington 1-0 in the round robin set up a gold medal game rematch. Both teams came out flying with chances at both ends. Unfortunately, after throwing everything at Burlington including the kitchen sink, they were unable to break their armor.
Congratulations to all the players, Brandon, Christopher, Chase, Ethan, Ewan, Griffin, Jasper, Jordon, Joshua, Lewis, Max, Nathan, Naveed, Neel, Sam, Tyson, and Xavier who gave 110% in each game and didn’t leave anything in the gas tank.
