The Ontario Hockey Federation’s Board of Directors have made the decision to remove the OHF COVID19 Vaccination Policy (approved October 12, 2021) for the 2022/2023 hockey season. The OHF would like
to emphasize that all programs, regardless of level, are ultimately required to adhere to all public health,
municipal and facility policies, and directives, if more restrictive than the current provincial guideline.

As per Hockey Canada regulations, tryouts for U14 - U18 teams will be held in the spring. While U18 AAA tryouts will be held in August, there is a skate on the schedule for returning Waxers and Zone residents.
Tryouts for U10-U13 rep teams and U7-U13 house league/select teams will be held in September. The tryout schedule for fall tryouts will be posted in early September.

Rickson Gracie, of the famed Gracie Jiu Jitsu family once said, “if size mattered, the elephant would be the king of the jungle.” These are words Ontario Hockey League teams should keep in mind when considering Jack Good in this year's priority draft. The 15-year-old from Pickering, Ont., stands just five-foot-seven but led the Markham Waxers U16 AAA team with 23 goals and 21 assists this season, propelling them to the OMHA championships. In the process he’s established himself as an intriguing prospect, one who coach Dan Daoust says shouldn’t be overlooked because of his size.

Standout defenceman competing at OMHA Championships
As the 2019 OMHA U13 AAA season ended, standout defenceman Frankie Marrelli celebrated the third championship of his young career with the Markham Waxers. Then COVID-19 hit, shutting down leagues, playoffs and championships during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Now he and the Waxers are back in championship play in their OHL draft year and in what could be his final season in minor hockey.

The Ontario Hockey Federation currently has in place a vaccination mandate for participants that are 12
years of age and older which is in alignment with the the Ontario Government’s vaccination requirement
for sports facilities. The Government of Ontario's mandate ended on March 1, 2022. Despite this, the OHF will be maintaining its
vaccination policy for the duration of the 2021-2022 season.
