Minor Atom AE are York Simcoe Champs!
Submitted By Deb Larsen on Thursday, March 28, 2019
Congratulations to the Waxers Minor Atom AE team who are York Simcoe Champs!

Coach Bobby Dhanjal and his coaching staff worked tirelessly to develop and build a winning team. The team began the year with dry land training in the summer to get the team bonding and working on their overall cardio. So prepared, the kids jumped out on the ice with a bang and went undefeated for the first 11 games of the season. We now knew we had something quite special and unique with this squad.

When the York Simcoe play downs began, this team was firing on all cylinders and we knew we had a competitive team who was ready to challenge any and all on-comers!

We quickly got the train rolling against Aurora and Georgina and went undefeated in that round robin series. Then came Stouffville and we continued our dominance, taking that series in 3 straight games.

That brought us to the finals vs Newmarket. The crowds came out in droves to support the team, even the Twitterverse was lighting up with our very own Mayor Frank Scarpitti and the Markham Royals cheering us on. The team once again stepped up to the challenge and swept the series in three straight games to take the York Simcoe Championship in convincing fashion!

The coaching staff is very proud of the all the parents and kids for their dedication this season. This will truly be a season to remember!

Congratulations Waxers!
