Minor Bantam Selects Win Shamrock Tournament
The Markham Waxers Minor Bantam RS team came home with the gold medal from the 46th Annual Shamrock Select Tournament, hosted by the West Hill Minor Hockey Association from March 30 – April 1, 2018.  Coached by Alex Tashos, with assistance from Steve Omoto and Tim McFadden, the team won the final by a 3-1 score over the Parkwood Stars.

The most exciting game of the tournament was when the Waxers Selects defeated the Ajax Knights 1-0 to advance to the final.  That game was won on a goal scored with only 20 seconds to go and the Waxers goalie pulled for an extra attacker.

Congratulations to all, Jenshan Baskaran, Noah Begley, Sam Michael Coppa, Evan Fernandes, Zayan Hira, Shaan Khera, Callum McFadden, Connor Newall, Josh Ng, Brett Omoto, Ethan Ortiz, Shaun Sandhu, Zack Siemens, John Simpson, Daniel Snow, Victor Tashos, Andrew Vrzovski, David Daniels-Wong, and Colin Wong for an exciting and well-deserved tournament victory and a great ending to the season.
