There is no better feeling than scoring a big goal, maybe with the exception of making a perfect pass to assist in the ultimate goal. The Waxers Minor Atom A team, led by coach Sal Paglialunga, was able to provide a timely assist to Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) this fall, raising over $2000 for the charity.
Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) is a volunteer driven charitable organization which raises funds to benefit local homeless support agencies.
The Minor Atom A team, comprised of Ben, Braydon, Colin, Dylan, Fraser, Hugo, Ivan, Jack, Julian, Lorenzo, Lucas C, Lucas S, Owen, Sammy, Trevor, Trey and Tyler, and their families, embarked on a journey of selling pumpkins and soliciting donations to raise money for the charity.
The fundraiser not only helped the young players realize that the struggles in the game of life go well beyond the struggles they experience on the ice, the funds raised exceeded the expectations of the team and the charity itself.
Congratulations, to the Minor Atom A team for representing the Waxers organization with pride in helping the homeless. The team would like to thank Canlan Ice Sports for allowing them to utilize their facilities in support of the charity.
Way to go Waxers!
