Pink the Rink!
Submitted By Deb Larsen on Wednesday, October 2, 2019
On Saturday, September 28, 2019,  The Markham Waxers Minor Peewee A Team kicked off their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser at Angus Glen Community Centre.  Our players debuted their special pink and blue Breast Cancer Awareness Jerseys in a game versus The King Rebellion.

To date, our 2008 Waxers A Team has helped raise over $15,000 towards the Canadian Cancer Society to go toward research for finding a cure.  A very special thank you goes out to The King Rebellion players for taping their sticks pink in support of our Waxers’ fundraising efforts.

The Markham Waxers Minor Peewee A Team will continue to work together to raise money for The Canadian Cancer Society’s CIBC Run for the Cure to benefit the breast cancer cause. Throughout the month of October, our team will be playing games with our special Pink and Blue Breast Cancer Awareness Jerseys, Pink Stick tape, Shin pad tape and Pink laces. As well, our Coaching staff and parents will be wearing pink to games to support and bring awareness to the cause.

Many of us have known incredible women that are or have been affected by this disease.

Please contribute what you can to help the players on the Markham Waxers Minor Peewee A Team achieve their fundraising goal and beat the toughest opponent they will ever face. Every dollar makes a difference and gets us one step closer to making breast cancer beatable. Your donation will fund innovative breast cancer research to help save the lives of more women and provide support programs to those affected by this disease.
