Coach John MacIsaac knew
his team was super competitive and decided to
register them in a tournament in putting his team
up against the best of the best in Canada and the United States.
With 19 Players available Coach John decided to divide his team evenly and register two Waxers tyke teams. Both teams played extremely well. One team won all their games earning them a spot in the semi-finals and the other team lost only one game which also earned them a spot in the semi-final.
What happened next no one saw coming—the semi-final put Waxers against Waxers, with the winner advancing to the gold medal game. The game was the most exciting game played so far. It was a back-and-forth game right to the last minute. One Waxers team advanced with a 3-2 win.
The Gold Medal Game was a rematch against the Vaughan Rangers, who had only allowed one goal against them for the entire tournament and was the only team to beat the Waxers in the round robin. This game brought everyone in the arena to their feet with both goalies and all players performing at an all star level. The Waxers maintained constant pressure never slowing down earning them a 4-3 win over the Rangers.
Congratulations Waxers!!
