Bradford Blue & Gold Tournament Champs!
Submitted By Deb Larsen on Tuesday, November 6, 2018
The Minor Bantam MD Blue team were crowned Champions of the Bradford Blue & Gold tournament held from November 2nd-4th, 2018. Despite having a challenging start to the season where their efforts did not always translate to the scoresheet and standings, our boys continued to be committed to working hard to improve their game and were eager to prove it on the ice in this tournament.

Three solid wins and a tie in the round robin would lock down 1st place and earn a spot in the final with the Richmond Hill Stars, a rival from our York Simcoe loop. Our Waxers and Stars had split the 2 games against each other so far this season in close 1-goal affairs.

Our Waxers played the final with speed, determination and relentless forechecking and backchecking. Arguably icing their best game of the season to date, they controlled play from the drop of the puck to the final buzzer. With timely saves and great team defense, our boys secured the Championship with a 3-0 shutout victory!

Way to go boys for a total team effort throughout the entire tournament, going undefeated and outscoring the opposition 20-9.

Congratulations to our Minor Bantam MD Blue team, including our amazing Waxers Nation families!
