OHF Bulletin: Interim Policy for Coach Selection Announcements for the 2025–2026 Season
Bulletin ID: 24-048

The Board of Directors of the Ontario Hockey Federation has approved an interim policy governing the announcement and selection timeline for Coaches for the 2025–2026 season.

Effective immediately, Associations are not to select or announce Coaches for the upcoming season prior to January 15, 2025. The Ontario Hockey Federation reserves the right to set a different date if deemed necessary.

Reason:

The OHF is currently reviewing the player movement regulations for the 2025-2026 season and inclusive of these regulation considerations are restrictions that may limit associations' ability to retain specific coaching candidates.

Policy Details:

• Coach Announcement Date: No announcements or selections of coaches are permitted prior to January 15, 2025, or any alternative date specified by the OHF.
• Potential Sanctions: Associations and individuals failing to comply with this directive may face penalties for non-compliance with an official decision of the OHF Board of Directors
