The U18 MD1 team returned home with the gold medal from their sweep of the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament.
The route to gold began with a 5-2 win against Caledon Hawks Red, followed by a close 2-1 victory over the Newmarket Renegade. A well-played game by Kanata had us on our heels to secure the third win with a final score of 3-2. With Caledon winning their game against Newmarket Saturday night 5-1, we know the final game was going to be a nailbiter!
The U18 Waxer MD1 team performed at a high level all tournament long, displaying a commitment to team defense, excellent puck movement, and a coordinated attack with timely goal-scoring.
They played with an impassioned spirit, while always maintaining discipline and respect for the on-ice officials and their opponents. This was a total team effort from goal out.
Their accomplishment was well deserved, and the coaching staff couldn't be prouder of these young men.
