U12 A Orangeville Fall Classic Champions
Congratulations to the Markham Waxers U12 A team who kicked off their first tourney of the season with a championship cup in the 2022 Orangeville Fall Classic November 25-27.

The team began the round robin with a 1-1 tie in the first afternoon game against Caledon on Friday. The weekend proved to be huge for the team with a 7-0 win over Burlington and a 8-0 win over the Heartland Dragons on Saturday followed by another 8-0 win over Heartland in the semis on Sunday morning.

The team would go into the finals with a rematch against Caledon where two early goals by the Hawks only added fuel to what would be a big fiery response from the Waxers in the both the second and third periods with four straight goals. Caledon would add a third in the third but it wasn’t enough to stop the Waxers from claiming their first championship win.

“Seeing our players come together and play the way they did for one another is very rewarding as a coach," said head coach Bobby Berkenblit. "Your job is to teach them elements of the game they can take with them as they progress and seeing success in the regular season coupled with a big tournament win like this drives them to excel even further.”
