Coaching Qualifications Update
With increasing demand, capacity to deliver Development 1 NCCP clinics for new Coaches has been limited by several factors. This has resulted in the Development Committee, and the OMHA Subcommittee revisiting the compliance date of October 31, 2021 in the memo below. In addition there has been a review of the Team Officials Qualifications Chart as published, which appears as Appendix ‘A’ on Page 174 in the Current OMHA Manual of Operations.

This review identified that the capacity to deliver D1 clinics to meet potential demand may not be achievable by the original date. As such, the compliance date as stated in the original Memo has been revised from October 31 to NOVEMBER 30, 2021. We continue to make every effort in providing D1 clinics at maximum capacity until this date.

With regard to the Team Officials Qualifications Chart, it has been determined that the qualification requirement of D1 Trained for Assistant Coaches U12-U18 at AA and Below Representative (including A/E) will now become minimum Coach 2 – Coach Level or higher (previously D1 Trained).

Assistant Coaches at U14-U18 AAA will still require a Minimum of D1 Trained, in keeping with the National requirement. Access to the Coach 2 – Coach Level Clinic continues to be available online for Coaches to complete.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ACCOMMODATIONS ARE IN PLACE FOR THE 2021-2022 SEASON ONLY AND ARE IMPLEMENTED IN THE INTEREST OF REMOVING AS MANY OBSTACLES AS POSSIBLE IN GETTING OUR PLAYERS BACK TO PLAYING OUR GAME.
