Minor Novice Selects win Leaside Invitational
in quadruple overtime!
After going a solid 5-1 in the round robin and finishing first in the Tier 1 division of the 30th Annual Leaside Select Invitational, the Minor Novice Select Markham Waxers were up against the formidable Whitby Wildcats in the final late Sunday afternoon.
It was a back and forth battle that ended regulation time in a 13-13 tie after the Waxers tied the game with one minute remaining. The Waxers and Wildcats played 3 full overtime’s with no decision before the Waxers scored first in quadruple sudden death overtime to become tournament champions for the second time this season.
