Markham, ON – December 6 — The Markham Waxers 2014 Select hockey team took part in the Hockey with Heart food drive on December 6 in support of the Markham Food Bank.
Dressed in their team jerseys, the players helped distribute food collection bags to local residents. The bags will be collected at a later date and the donations will support families in need throughout the holiday season.
The initiative gave the young athletes an opportunity to give back to the community while learning the importance of teamwork and generosity off the ice. Coaches and parents praised the players for their enthusiasm and positive attitude during the event.
The Markham Waxers organization continues to encourage community involvement as part of player development.
