U18 BB1 Team 2025 Essa Eagles Fall Classic Champions
This past weekend the U18BB1 team embarked on a journey to the Essa Eagles Fall Classic Tournament to face some of the top U18BB teams in Ontario.

Having to secure a win on Sunday morning, the U18BB1 Waxers took care of business and beat the Brantford 99ers 5-2 to grab a spot in finals.  This was a rematch with the undefeated Halton Hills Thunder Red team whom they tied 2-2 in an earlier seesaw round robin affair.

The Waxers absorbed the opening surge of energy from the attacking Halton Hills team and moments later stunned the Thunder with a quick strike to take a 1-0 lead early in the first period.  The battle pressured on with numerous scoring chances by the Thunder and Waxers throughout the 2nd period but remained at 1-0 Waxers.  Early in the 3rd period the Waxers found themselves on a powerplay and didn’t waste the opportunity firing home a goal to take a 2-0 lead only to then find themselves in penalty trouble moments later.  After some close calls and big saves the Waxers blocked a key shot that turned into a short-handed opportunity that was never in doubt and a commanding 3-0 lead was now upon us.

Sensing the end was near, the powerful Halton Hills team turned up the pressure and found the back of the net to make things 3-1.  However, the Waxers settled things down and never let things get any closer to take home the title and the 2025 Essa Eagles Fall Classic Championship with a final score of 3-1.

The Markham Waxers U18BB1 Team would like to thank the Halton Hills Thunder Red team for an intense and emotional end to the tournament that displayed some of the best U18BB hockey the province has to offer.

Our biggest thank you as always goes out to all our U18BB1 Waxers families and friends for all their support during this tournament.  Most importantly a big congratulations to all of the Markham Waxers U18BB1 gold medalists:  Kish, Adam, Pags, Daniel, Kevy, Tanger, Rhys, Mats, Jalen, Jack, Evan, Dassy, Knighty, Ryden, Devin, Terry, Sharms, Brando, coach Ryno, coach Sal, coach Jeff, trainers Jim, Joe and team manager Richard.
