Waxers U16BB2 President's Cup Champions
The President’s Cup final was the readiest the team has been for a game all season. The boys knew their coaching staff had prepared them well and provided them with all the tools necessary, and it was their moment to shine and show what they had been working towards all year. The feeling in the dressing room and on the bench was pure determination and the ultimate demonstration of the brotherhood they all share.

The game was going according to plan as the team took a 1-0 lead, but the Blue team fought back to tie and then took the lead 2-1 on a power play goal. However, there was no quit in this team, not today! The boys continued battling and despite being exhausted from the hard work on the ice, they knew this was their moment, they just needed to play, play hard and play TOGETHER.

Down 2-1 heading into the third period, the boys did not lose sight of their goal. The team showed incredible resilience, taking a 3-2 lead. At the end of the third, the game was tied 3-3 and took us to sudden death overtime. Our Markham Waxers fought hard, and after a few tense minutes were able to put a goal in the back of the net to secure the win. It was phenomenal exhilaration for the boys, both on the bench and on the ice, and the win felt even sweeter knowing they battled through the ups and downs, of both this game and their season.

The adversity that this team faced all season taught them valuable lessons and culminated into this one: that team success can only be achieved by working TOGETHER!

Congratulations to all of our boys on Markham Waxers White U16BB: Aaron Chen, Andy Easun, Brandon Young, Brenden Luong, Dom Gorham, Eric Fry, Eric Song, Fin Ballos, Gavin Wong, Ivan Peng, James Mamalis, Jesse Khera, Justin Lee, Lucas Maziarczyk, Mark Weatherhead, Noah Wiseman, Isaac Majd, and Connor Kreutz.
