U18 BB2 Team March Meltdown Tournament Champs
The Markham Waxers U18 BB2 team are the gold medal champions of the 2025 Toronto Avalanche March Meltdown Tournament!

After going 2-1-1 in round robin play and clinching the number one seed overall, the Waxers advanced to a semi-final rematch against a tough defensive team in the Leaside Flames A team. After a slow start to the game, some strong goaltending kept the boys in the game and they rebounded with a big goal to open the scoring and take a lead 1-0 to end the 1st period. After numerous close calls and scoring chances by both teams in the middle frame, the Waxers added an insurance marker mid way through the 3rd period on the PP. They boys held on the rest of the way and secured the win sending them to the finals versus the U18A Milton Jr Menace.

In the championship game, the Waxers came out the same way as the semi final game with a big opening period goal. The back and forth opportunities continued with numerous chances by both teams in this defensive battle. The boys dug deep and locked down, committed to the process and held that same 1-0 lead for 2 more periods and eventually were crowned champions with a 1-0 win.

A huge thank you goes out to all our Waxers families and friends for their support this weekend and especially a big congratulations to all the Markham Waxers U18 BB2 team: Kish, Adam, Pagsie, Daniel, Kevy, Wanger, Tanger, Rhys, Mats, Jalen, Evan, EZ, Knighty, Ryden, Devin, Terry, Brando, Jack.
