Congratulations to the Waxers U16 BB1 team for their outstanding performance at the Niagara Falls, NY, Gene Harrington Niagara Showdown Tournament! The team emerged as the division winners after a challenging weekend against teams from Meadowvale, New Hamburg, and Ajax-Pickering, securing a spot in the championship game with a 2-1-0 record.
The final game against the Meadowvale Hawks was a tough battle from the start. Despite a decisive 6-0 victory against the Ajax-Pickering Raiders the night before, the Hawks proved to be a formidable opponent. The Waxers scored a quick goal in the first period, but the Hawks tied the game by the end of the first. However, the Waxers dug deep, reset their focus, and scored another goal in the second period to secure a 2-1 victory and claim the division championship.
A special shoutout to the entire Waxers U16 BB1 team: Andrew H, Andrew S, Ben D, Fraze, Callum, Connor, Cruz, Dylan, Finn, Hayden, Kai, Wanger, Lukas (with a K), Nicholas, Noah, Ryan, and Zee.
