U15 MD1 Win U15 AMHA Tournament!
After going undefeated 4-0 in round robin play and clinching the #1 seed in their bracket, the U15 MD1 Markham Waxers advanced to Sunday’s semifinal round where they faced off against the Bradford Bulldogs. This clash would be a grudge match to an earlier round robin game vs. the same opponents that resulted in an injury that caused one of our own players to unfortunately end their tournament journey. Although the end of the first period had us neck-and-neck for a 1-1 tie, our troops secured a dominating 6-1 win that allowed us to dedicate our victory to our injured soldier! Up next: the battle for gold vs. the Ajax-Pickering Raiders…



Our Waxers anticipated a savage battle out of the gate from the ravenous Raiders and were yet again tied 1-1 going into the second period.  Midway though the 2nd period the Waxers capitalized on a 5 on 3 powerplay, scoring 2 goals. Our boys were unrelenting and merciless in the 3rd period, convincingly winning 4-1 and crowning themselves as the unconquerable gold medal champions of the AMHA tournament!

The Markham Waxers U15MD1 Team would like to thank the Aurora Minor Hockey Association for hosting a spectacular tournament and the Ajax-Pickering Raiders for a fine match.
