Waxers U18A win York Simcoe Championship!!!
The Markham Waxers U18A team defeated Richmond Hill by a score of 3-1 in the final game of the York Simcoe Championship tournament on Saturday April 9. The boys played their best hockey of the season at the right time, going undefeated in the playoffs, winning 7 straight games and allowing a total of only 7 goals against in the process,

The York Simcoe Championship was the culmination of a very successful season that saw the team compile an overall record of 33-13-2.

The boys experienced many highlights, including a 12 game win streak earlier in the year, and were very competitive in several tournaments. Additionally, the boys displayed incredible team chemistry, and outstanding character development all year long, representing themselves, their families and the Waxer organization with pride, respect, determination, resilience, and commitment.

Congratulations go out to team members Stef, Nolan, Alex, Andy, Kyle, Thomas, Mason, Henry, Jack, Callum, Will, Max M., Max. P, Nigel, Karson, Ty, Jaden, Ewen, and Julian. Additionally, thanks to to Jason St. Louis for managing, and coaches Carter Collins, Julius Auyeung, Rory Lue-Kim, Mike Poschar and Tim McFadden for working with the boys all year.

The team would like to thank their amazing support group of parents, siblings, and friends - the best fans in the OMHA.

Congratulations to the ‘04’ players who finished their season and minor hockey careers on a triumphant note, and to the ‘05s’ who will hopefully be back competing in Waxer uniforms again next hockey season.
