Eadan McParland hasn’t let Type 1 diabetes stand in the way of his hockey dreams, instead becoming a role model.

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is centralizing the processing of Police Vulnerable Sector Checks (PVSC) through the OHF Screening Policy for all team officials and team personnel. This is in addition to screening of all on-ice officials that has been in place the past number of years. All minor hockey associations will continue to screen staff and board members that are not involved in on-ice programming.

The Ontario Hockey Federation wants to understand your experiences with the new Playing Regulations for the 2023-2024 season. The first Survey that was sent out in September sought feedback on the Preparation and Evaluation Phases. The second survey explored your experience with the Development Phase. The Regular Season and Playoff Phase survey will be open until Sunday, May 12, 2024, and will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

The Markham Waxers U18 AAA team defeated the Waterloo Wolves 6-5 to capture the Central Ontario Regional Championship on Sunday, April 14. Next stop is Sydney, Nova Scotia to compete for Canada’s Men’s U18 National Club Championship at the TELUS Cup, April 22-28 at the Membertou Sport & Wellness Centre. More information to follow.

The Waxers are pleased to announce the head coaches for the 2024-2025 select teams. Evaluations for U10 and older will be held in the spring. The full evaluation schedule will be posted on the website when finalized--near the end of March. Evaluations for U9 and younger will be held in the fall.
