As part of our community initiative this season, the Waxers 2008 U14MD Team has chosen to help shine light on the importance of inclusion and the eradication of racism in hockey, and we are bringing awareness to The HDA (Hockey Diversity Alliance). The HDA is a group made up of current and former NHL players that promote diversity in sport and help raise awareness to end racism in the game we all love - hockey. Seeing as we have such an ethnically diverse team, we feel as a team that this is an important issue we can all stand behind and support with pride.
For the month of February our team will be taping our sticks with the “words of support” tape that was designed by the HDA and Budweiser. As a team, we stand by the HDA and will #TapeOutHate
