Waxers Kick Off 2019-20 Season with a Bang!
The Bantam AAA Waxers had a great Toronto Red Wings Early Bird Tournament to kick off the 2019-20 season. The tournament started with a huge upset, beating last year's GTHL finalist Mississauga Reps 4-3, and went on to beat the Cambridge Hawks, the Chicago Fury and Whitby Wildcats to win its group and qualify for the championship round.
The team showed resilience against the York Simcoe Express in the quarter finals, falling behind 4-1 halfway through the game, eventually tying the game in regulation and winning 5-4 in a shoot out. The team battled hard against the Toronto Junior Canadiens in the semis. The game was tied 3-3 until JRC scored with 45 seconds left in regulation. The game ended with a 5-3 loss.
A great kick-off to the season!
