Minor PeeWee's Win York Simcoe Playoffs!
The 2004 AA Team capped a dominant three year stretch by winning the York Simcoe Minor Hockey League playoffs with a convincing sweep of Orillia.
This group was the class of the league from 2013-2015, losing in the OMHA semifinals each year to eventual champion Clarington after leading 2-1 in each series. This year was to be a rebuilding year after losing 6 kids to AAA over the last two years. Instead the boys beat Aurora in a drama-filled series in the OMHA Playdowns (which included a protest, a vacated victory, an appeal and a replay!) to make it to the OMHA quarterfinals. A tough loss to Barrie saw the team return to the YSMHL playoffs and win series over TNT, Stouffville, Newmarket and Orillia to take the title. Thanks to coaches Chris, Shamus and Steve and trainers Danny and Phil for a great ride. And to all the parents for their support over the years. But most especially to the boys for their great heart and determination. Congratulations team!
