Doing it Right—On and Off the Ice
This winter the Markham Waxers Minor Peewee AE White team not only defeated the number two team in their division on the ice, but they also provided a few cold hours of community service assisting the well-known charity group, Hockey with Heart off the ice.

Guided by the energetic and capable Wayne Nishimura, one of the orchestrators of this year's Hockey with Heart Food Drive, the team spread themselves out in the community to deliver bags, generously donated by The Village Grocery to be filled with non-perishable food items for those in need.  It was both a great joy and great morning of giving back for the team, who were joined not only by parents but by siblings and grandparents as well.

Head Coach Steve Chipun said, "this is a great opportunity of the team to put their energy and focus into the people and places that support us all season long."

Next stop for the Markham Waxer Minor Peewee AE White team?  The team is hoping to go all the way to the York-Simcoe Championships!
