Markham Waxers 6th Annual Equipment Swap featuring Steven Stamkos
The Markham Waxers will host its 6th annual Equipment Swap on August 15th at the Mt. Joy Community Centre and we need your help.

The Markham Waxers will host their 6th annual equipment swap on Saturday, August 15th at the Mt. Joy Community Centre. Former Waxers player Steven Stamkos will sign autographs on Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am for those who make a donation to the Minor Hockey Foundation Ontario and a donation of gently-used equipment to the Waxers Equipment Swap.

We need your gently used equipment!

Are you looking to clean out some of that gently used equipment that is too small for your child? Would you like to see it put to good use in our community? Would you like to support those in our community who need a little financial help to play hockey? If you answered yes, please consider donating your gently used hockey equipment to the MMHA for use in our annual equipment swap. Last year’s swap was bigger than ever but we need more equipment for this year’s swap.

How do you donate?

  • Drop off your equipment at the Waxers office before the swap (August 15th) any time during office hours, which are posted on our Contact page
  • NEW this year! Arrange pickup of your equipment by emailing MMHA Convener Jennifer Siemens. Porch pickup dates will be arranged on Thursday August 6th (after 5pm) and Tuesday August 11th (after 5pm). Pickup area includes 404 to Reesor Road and Stouffville Side Road to Steeles.
  • Drop off your equipment between 8:00 am and 9:30 am on Saturday, August 15th.

The MMHA will sell the equipment at $10 or less per item (except goalie equipment), which provides our community with access to quality hockey equipment at bargain prices keeping the cost of playing hockey at as reasonable a level as possible. Proceeds made from the sale of the equipment go to the MMHA Yes, You Can Play! fund, which helps pay for registration fees for those in our community who otherwise would not be able to afford to play hockey. It’s a win-win situation!
